my ABR800 should be here tomorrow, thinking about getting a softbox or umbrella for it for some automotive photography. should be good.

Nice job Alex.

As for the lighting, depending on what you want to use it for, you will be fine with bare strobes for exterior shots. Umbrellas/softboxes may end up reflecting on the body of the car. I'd spend the money on additional strobes if you don't have more than one. Three seem to be ideal, unless you want to paint the light with just one. It's more work, but doable.

1 and 3 look great. The only thing I would do is clone out the pole in 3. Great shots.
