Has anyone experience the following with their 20D LCD after each shot.

1. When I shoot with proper settings, the LCD screen will display the image slightly underexposed even though the image is not. The LCD screen brightness is set to default when this happens.

2. The LCD screen recently started displaying under exposed images ONLY through the LCD and now when the image is viewed via CPU monitor.

3. I've owned my 20D since 2005, so could the life span of the LCD be coming to an end?

I wouldn't worry about what the image looks like. Look at the histogram.

My 20D's LCD image preview used to confuse me when I first got the camera. It always shows the images as having a longer exposure than is actually the case, but I don't pay too much attention to it. I used to have the LCD brightness turned right up, but I have it on its lowest setting these days as it will show a closer representation of the actual photograph taken.

As Gooble says, the histogram is a better indicator of what is going on, although it is worth bearing in mind that the histogram is based on the small JPG preview image that the camera generates for its display and not the RAW image you have taken (assuming of course that you photograph in RAW format).

I doubt very much that it would be the LCD wearing out. I don't know the lifespan of LCD screens but I bet it's a lot more than three years!
