Do the 420EZ have possibility to be controlled by the 580EX II?
I've read the manual but it's nothing in there about this subject.

Or do I just have to buy seperate triggers?

No, the 420EZ is not compatible with the 580EX II as an ETTL wireless slave.

ok, not the answer I was hoping for. So I will have to buy some triggers and do manual instead.

The 420EZ is not a very good choice for an off camera manual flash.

The 420EZ (and 430EZ) have a standby mode that cannot be turned off. So if you use it off camera with a "trigger: you must return to the lash about every 90 seconds to take it out of standby mode.

Unlike the 420EZ and the 430EZ, the 540EZ can be taken out of standby mode.

Enjoy! Lon
