I am using a Kenko(Hoya) Pro1 Haze filter.

Something that I have seen with my pictures and others (In this area) is a yellow tinge that is in every sunny picture. Is there any filter to take care of that? I am in the midwest (Missouri) right now and things really do look like they have a slight yellow tinge to them.

Back in California things get bleached easy and pictures turn out great and contrasty.

I am going back home to Sacramento this Dec so I wont have this problem for much longer.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Try taking it off and see what happens.

Shoot RAW and you can easily remove that tint in PP. Just a start.

Shoot RAW and change the White Balance.

Lemme guess: No hood?

Use the hood, don't use the filter. See what happens.

I forgot to tell you guys and gals, the camera is a XTi, but it went back to Sams because of some hot pixels. A brand new 40D is set to hit my doorstep tomorrow. I already have been reading the Field guide over and over again. :D

I have not yet tried a custom white ballance, as soon as my 40D gets here this week I will give that a try.

Those are great suggestions but still doesnt work, I havnt shot jpeg since I first got the camera ages ago and it did it then too.

I shoot raw, I have tried it with and without the filter and I do have a hood, I have hoods for all my lenses.

As for PPing, I already do that and it fixes the problem (CS3.)

If the white ballance fixes it then I will be happy :)
It just seems weird to get that kind of tinge in a different part of the country.

Why not post an image with the problem? Helps a lot to take the guessing on our part away ;)

What kind of lens are you using? Some Sigma's (not all) produce a yellow colorcast under certain conditions.

I was using an 18-55mm EFS kit lens for the pictures.
Just look through my flickr account of the pictures taken during the day. The pictures of the trails are probably the best to look at for the yellow.
All pictures have been edited a little though so some dont show where they once had it.

I also use these.
28mm 2.8
50mm 1.8 II
35-80mm I
70-200mm F4

With the 40D the pictures look a lot better, I am not getting that yellow tinge anymore. I will upload pix taken with the 40D later next week.

I love m 40D so much :D
