Hello all.
Would you all please C&C these photos please.

Here is my youngest playing and having fun:

This is my Wife wondering why I am taking yet another photo of her...lol!!!
IMAGE: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3012/2673864400_ee992abe0c_o.jpg

I did something different with the white balance on this one compared to the others...what do you think?

My wife took control of the camera with this one. She just snapped away without changing the shutter time. This shot was taken over 2f-stops under exposed. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was recoverable.

1. distracting plant in front of girl
2. mouth covered up, distracting people in the bg.
3. cut off older girl's feet
4. would be better if they were grouped together

The end result is good; good contrast, strong colours, good focus, nothing to fault really.

Thanks very much for your input. I was a little worried that I might be over processing them.
Thanks :)

How much you process your images is completely subjective, and too much can only be determined by you. For me, these are not too much at all; I'd call them just right.

Some people don't like too sharp, some like sharper. Some like more colour, some like less. All of these comments are purely subjective.

Composition Critiques

I think the first shot had the most potetial, and would be fantastic if you had framed is so the plant in the foreground was not in front of your daughter.

The image of your wife just has no impact for me. She's covering the bottom of her face, and her eyes. Dead center. Background is distracting with brightly clothed people in the background.

The two girls sitting on the log could have been a good shot too. I can see where the log and upright tree form a connected curve, and that would have been a nice element for a landscape shot, but the girls are sitting too far to the right and facing out of the frame. The backdrop is quite nice, so get in tighter and have them face into the frame. Would also increase the impact of the image if they didn't look like they were afraid of getting cooties from each other. Hug!

The last image will be a very nice family memento of your trip for years to come. Enjoy it.

Caveat: I just got felted at the poker tables so read my critique with that in mind hahahaha :D

In the first image it's the bush behind your daughter that I like the most. It looks like wings on a water sprite playing in the water.

OMG...I never saw that, very cool...and yes, your critique was very constructive and very helpful. I need to start to look a little more at what I am snapping away at...might have to go on another day trip soon :)

I beg to differ...she is very flattering, but thanks for the comment.
