In all seriousness, if weight is not an issue then take a look at something like this:

or this if you don't want a center column, and need to get low to the ground.

Natural tight grain hard wood tripods offer the best vibration dampening solution. Superior to even the carbon fiber. They weigh a lot more though.

You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.

Thanks again, we are heading out soon. Going again next wednesday to watch the Yanks, and Peter Lugers!!

I think I may just take it home today from B+H. Then I can take some night shots of the skyline.

Thanks for all your help.

Although I suggested a 3 series Gitzo earlier, if weight is not an issue as well speed of setup, I would highly recommend the Berlebachs. You can use the savings for a Wimberley (for the 600) as well as a Markins M20 (for everything else). B&H has the Berlebachs, Gitzos, and Wimberley. You would have to order a M20 from Markins. Also, you will need to consider the AS plates for the lenses and camera. Markins, Wimberley, RRS, and Kirk make them. My preference is the RRS plates, brackets, and clamps.
