You really think they will go back up in price after they have had them below $939 :)

Oh yes.... This is Canon's incentive rebate for the spring... It ends 7/19/08 - But waiting it out is ones choice, isn't it?? ;c)

Huh, outdated?? It is not a good indication for upgrading. Do you find any XT limiting factor? Such as AF, burst rate, ergonomic, live view, .... If you don't find any limitation, upgrading to a 30D, XTi, or even 40D will probably not get your better pictures. But if you want to have the newest gadget, then it is up to you.

ok so Im realizing that my Canon Rebel XT is becoming outdated. Is there anyone one out there that can sell me on a new camera? I am far from a millionaire, so price does make a difference. I guess what Im asking is whats the best bang for my buck, or should I just stick with my rebel?

Which means a new model is coming out, perhaps a ff or more MP's with lower noise due to a new lower temp CMos. So do you want 2 more mp, with some extra features for cheap, or do you want a new model that may cost more but has even better IQ with is what the original poster wants.

I just don't think the 40d is that big of a leap in technology, features and IQ over the XT, it is a great camera for the price but I guess it depends what you want.

I still think lenses are the way to go and to upgrade the camera last and wait for the latest and greatest. He already has a camera, he doesn't have a good range of lenses. The XT is already worth about nothing to sell. His lenses still have held thier value to a good extent. If he gets a FF later then he still has a crop sensor as a backup or the XT can become a disposable camera that you are more willing to take risks like take it in to advers weather or dusty condition in a bag, or maybe on a bicycle/motorcycle/quad trip up into the mountains. Just my humble opinion. If he really has to get a new camera and they are selling for 900 dollars what happens to the price of that camera used when everyone is trying to sell their old 40d's to buy the new unit that is out.
Or that maybe the answer if he really wants a minor upgrade in cameras. I used 40d. Which also strengthens my point

Cameras come, then go away
While glass is here to stay.
