I will sometimes get mine at lunch and take back to work with me if I'm planning on going to the refuge after work. Mainly just to save time so I don't have to drive the other direction to get the camera, then turn around and go back from the way I came from.

Everyday use: 7D2, 1.4x v3 Canon TC (sometimes the 2x v2 Canon TC), Canon 500mm f4 L IS USM; 6D, 24-105L

I only take it when I know I have ultra important POTN business to contend with during my work day. So I'll go with 3 or 4 times a month Alex for $1000.

Technicolor eh?

I spent a little time at their dub shop outside Detroit (and the High Speed facility outside Philly before they merged the two...)

Closest thing to a sweatshop I've ever seen in the video industry.

Those dubbing house can be brutal! I'm a telecine colorist so it's not that bad.

I would like to take mine, but General Motors wouldn't like it very much. NO CAMERAS ALLOWED. This goes for cell phone cameras too.

You sir....suck. j/k Must be nice to have a job like that eh?

Thanks all for the kind words...but be careful what you wish for... ;)

Before anyone gets the idea that my gig is all peaches and cream, may I point out that it requires flying commercially (have any of you done this lately...?) twice or more each week, living out of a suitcase and being gone from home 5 days a week from February to July (and it used to be Feb to November .. for four years, I did all 40 weeks of NASCAR...)

We're in Daytona for nearly three weeks before the 500. I also don't make it home between the Dover/Pocono weekends (client change from FOX to TNT) and the Loudon/Daytona 400 weekends (Cross Country flying Vs Short Week.) So that's seven weeks I don't even get home!

I've been in Sports TV for nearly 20 years now and while I've been fortunate to work my fair share of "big shows," (and earned five Emmy Awards) I've lost count of the number of parties, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and yes even funerals that I've either left early, arrived at late or missed entirely...

The grass is always greener as they say...

Not yet, but I definitely want to get in on that. I think it's on a couple of bridges, actually.
