I got a good deal on the sale, bought it second hand for $260 over a year ago with filter and hood and sold it today at a local shop here in Prague for $430 (current exchange worked for me this time!). Yes, you read it right ...$430; brand new one here costs $680. :( ($1=14.92)

Anyway, reason for selling is to buy the 100mm for more distance (will buy used one from sell forum). But for some reasons, I feel bad letting it go. First I'm scared about a lot of comments being heavy and may not get the same results with hand held shots like 60mm. Now that I am doing my homework ... seems like I need to buy other stuff to go with it like ring light and expensive tripod collar :(. I am just a hobbyist, do I really need these? I have a decent tripod and monopod, btw.

Well too late now, my sharpie lens is gone... make me feel better/worse, anyone?

Hey, I did the same not very long ago. I sold both my EF-S 10-22 and EF-S 60 macro, after getting a 5D. I do have a 17-40 anyway, and a 100 macro, so I am not feeling too bad about it (anymore).

In both cases I did have pangs, however. They are brilliant lenses, and are difficult to let go. To console myself, I got another 60 macro, for FF (Leitz, with AF confirm adapter :D), so I can use it both for FF and crop.

Kind regards, Wim

i recently got rid of my 12-24 tokina. and wouldn't you know it i need it a few days later. go figure. but i don't miss it. wasn't using it that much. my 17-40 get more use. anyway you would be just as happy with the 100 macro. i love mine. it's not that heavy really. all my macro shot are handheld with it. just got to use your body for support.

I just sold my Domke F-3x and all my strobist gear for a Sigma 150-500. I will miss the bag, but not the strobist stuff. The Canon 100 macro is a sweet lens though. You will like it.

I have shot the 60 and the 100...Both nice in there own regard.

The working distance of the 100 is nice, but so is the size and multi-use of the 60.

I think if you didn't need the light's and tripod for the 60 you wont need them for the 100.

Enjoy the 100, it's a nice lens, and it's unhealthy to have love for another in any relationship....MOVE ON DUDE, you know that's what the 60 would want. (even after you cheated on it)

I have the 100 macro and you don't need a tripod collar.

That is why I love POTN ...moral support and justified spending :)

Update: 100MM 2.8 macro is on it's way to me....

And seller was kind enough to dropped down the price to $370.00 because hood is not included :D
