The only things I have ever scanned have been flat...how "Deep" of an item can you get before the scan starts to fall apart? Most scanners have great depth. I once read an article about a lady who created flower arrangements inside of tupperware boxes using fishingline, etc. to keep things in place, and then scanned them with the tupperware box opening face down on a flatbed scanner.
