yes, elements is a very good investment...and usually for the most part will be all you'd really need...Bridge is a functional photo browser, ACR handles raw well and PE(I can't remember what the new verson it...6 I think) is quite useful. I have it on our one windows computer.

Does Elements include Bridge and ACR? I thought only CS2 and CS3 had that.

I would say yes. Didn't you get a photoshop cd with your camera? I seem to recall one with mine...
Although I ended up with PaintshopProX in the end.

erm, I don't recall getting any paintshop or photoshop stuff with the camera...all I got was a Digital Photo Professional thing to tweak your shots, but nothing that was considered "oooooooooooooooh la la"

gahhhh! I'm so windows illiterate. Thus far, I've discovered that it does have acr 4.2 (because I opened a raw file in it) and I can't figure out how to tell if bridge is on here...off to try some more

Okay, your 'oooooooooooooh la la' totally cracked me up :lol::lol:

I think I got elements 3 or some such with my 20D. Can't remember if it was on its own cd or bundled.

Open Windows Explorer and look inside C:\Program Files\Adobe -- if it came with Bridge, you'll see a folder in there that says "Adobe Bridge" or something similar.

okay, from what I can tell, elements 4 on mac came with bridge but elements 6 has something called an "organizer" that is your photo browser.

Elements is a lot more advanced than when I used to have it. I think version 3 was the last one I ever used, and I didn't even do much with it, then... As long as it has ACR, it should be a great starter package for Harm.

see I use lightroom as my browser and raw adjustor so I'm not familiar with bridge except that I've opened it by mistake a few times. This "organizer" in PE6 seems very simple and useful. And the AC raw looks the same as in CS3 (at least from first glance).

I'm looking at the organizer part now and you can sort, keyword, rate etc. in there (I'm not sure what the windows lightoom looks like but it offers many of the same options)...and there's a quick edit tab in the organizer for easy edits as well as a button that takes you to PE6 full editor. It seems nice.
