Only 2 weeks? Come down to Texas....we get about 11 months.

That much summer would seriously cut in to ski season though.
We could not have that. :D

why just tie the lead good and tight around the bar stool sit on said bar stool and enjoy a long cold one

My favorite shot (barring those of my family of course ) of the trip

Very nice as were your other shots, nice to see you shooting again. Your hikes should afford you and Daisy lots of quality time.

Wow the wife ain't lyin'...I am an ugly duckling.

This quacked me up. Have you found how nice the 100-400 is for shooting groups of flowers? I use it as much if not more than the 100mm macro for flowers.

think I could live on the top of a mountain in a cabin very happily.

I know I could, a spot like Jim is going to would be ideal.

Morning folks...setting my spot to come back in later after work. :D

That must have been nice.

Technically, we don't even get sick leave. It's really all part of the same PTO bank for us. Payroll does calculate vacation and sick time separately, but the hours all go to the same bank with that 420 hour cap. It doesn't matter if we call in sick or schedule a vacation, the time comes out of there. And, if someone leaves the company for whatever reason (quit, retire, fired), that bank gets cashed out completely.

We do accrue ESL (Extended Sick Leave) that goes to a separate bank, but that's only available to those who are out for an extended period of time, as the name implies. In other words, maternity leave, surgery and recovery, etc. I forget the length of time we'd have to be away from work before we start drawing from the ESL bank, but it's something like two weeks. Until that point we'd be getting paid from our PTO hours. There is no cap for the ESL bank, and there's no way to cash it out under any circumstances. If we never use it, we just lose it.

It was nice...at his salary, it would be somewhere about maybe 50K then minus taxes. Although, I don't know if its received 100% or a percentage of. My wife has a sick leave bank. They don't accrue, they just use sick leave when needed and will never get any cashed out. Vacation time is separate...at her time in company a set 3 weeks.

Yeah, in our fall/winter seasons, Texas would probably get the wind chill of a cool summer breeze in Canada. You can always travel away for ski season.

Thanks Becky. I have not tried the 100-400mm for groups of flowers yet. The butterfly shot I posted yesterday would be the closest to that.

You'll like the video ;).
