Non-squish.
I've been away at a friend's stag weekend. It was extremely tiring, I'm still tired and I want to go back to sleep now...
What did I miss?
Not much, I don't think

3. hopefully the sellers accept the counter offer and we can move forward with buying a house!
Good luck and fingers crossed...

Wow... Nice work on the house Kody. That's a real stressful place to be. We lost out on a couple of offers we made before we landed this place. Good thing too, we love it here.
Yeah, I hear you on that front. Before we decided to move about and work with travel, we had an offer accepted on a house that fell through at the last second...all that money wasted on a solicitor & inspection...shame...but hopefully it will be smoooooooother tides for Kody

I've kind of gotten to the same point. The place we're currently waiting on is in a really nice neighborhood. It's a little out dated, kitchen, heating and a few other things but it's a great place to make our home and has loads of potential. First thing we want to do is modify the kitchen, then update the heating.. Some ancient baseboard heat from the 60's possibly. I'll get a photo of them and share them later. You can see it in one of the listing photos but not real well. I want to make some big changes to the yard as well. I can already see myself living there which is cool and difficult at the same time if it doesn't work out.
Nothing but a little fun to fix it all up...

Yeah, that's one thing you need to keep an eye out for. What work you have to do to the place to make it really liveable.
If you want to be pessimistic like I am, just take whatever work you're thinking about doing and double it. For every thing you find you need to work on before you buy the place, you're sure to find something else after you've bought it.
We got really lucky with this place. All I've had to do to it is fix the toilets a couple of times...

There is nothing that needs to be done in order to live in it, we're talking preference and upgrade. Well we WILL have to replace the current toilet. The one in there is pretty nasty. Also the screens to prevent birds getting in the attic space are torn so those need replacing as well.
We'll have a home inspection so if there is anything major it should be found and dealt with prior to sealing the deal.
As far as kitchen and heating etc goes, it's all personal preference not necessity.
Sounds promising....if you need any walls knocked out however, I am sure you could call us all up to do that part...

Believe me. There will always be something that needs replaced, repaired or removed

I don't care if I never own again. I would be ecstatic to call the landlord to fix every damn thing

Ahh, yeah.....landlords....something goes wrong on a weekend, and they don't turn up for a few days etc....despite it being an emergency...wankers...
