No need to apologize, we are glad we can be here for you.

Good to hear Jasper is there for you, too. Should really help in solidifying the pack bound between you all. I'm glad you got a smartie with some vigor, sounds like he will fit right into your life style.:D

I know I never mind hearing other folks woes, and am happy to hear them out and offer support, it just feels weird when I am doing it. :o

Jasper is definitely bonding well with us. :D

Thanks Jen
The combine went right up on to his hip and stomach, they figure the prosthesis he was wearing saved him from being crushed worse, quite likely killing him. I was about 8 at the time.

I do need to get a few more shots of Jasper, and will share them when I do. :D

Wow how scary!!!! I took a farm medic course years ago when I was a firefighter/EMT... WOW!!!

Thanks. Last time we had an inspection we found termites.. That was a house 6 months ago. Hopefully we fare better this time.

WTG Kody!! and now you have a nice wide angle lens for the interior before and after shots!!

Yeah I know, it's sitting on my desk to my left, still haven't snapped a shot with it. It's too dark inside so I didn't bother. I hate going off ISO 100.

Ahh, yeah.....landlords....something goes wrong on a weekend, and they don't turn up for a few days etc....despite it being an emergency...wankers...

I have two 24/7 phone numbers in my cell phone's address book for the management company of the apartment building I live in. One for emergency maintenance, and one for the security people. I can reach them any time. I've only had to call the maintenance number once when my ceiling sprung a leak during a sudden monsoonal thunderstorm last year. It was after hours, but they still had someone here in just a minute or two.

I'm another of those people who just doesn't get why others prefer owning over renting.

Permagrin wrote in post #6051400 (external link)
little funny story...

The cable guy was just here hooking up our cable. He was a nice looking young man of latin coloring...and Calypso would have gladly gone home with him! She's usually very shy (hides when Chris comes here) but was all over this guy. No kidding. She was standing up so he'd pick her up and cuddling against him...it was so funny. I told him I'd lock her up but he was enchanted...I've NEVER seen her like that before.

Ashley was always that way with anyone who came into our home, but I've never seen another furkid behave that way. Minnie is cautiously friendly. Tupper and Crystal immediately run and hide in the bathroom cabinets whenever there's as much as a knock on the door. And, they won't even come back out until several hours after the "intruder" has left. Kitteh doesn't hide, but she won't let the stranger come anywhere near her -- which is exactly how she reacted to me when I saw her for the first time at your MIL's house.

Oh, it is, is it?!? You really think so? I wouldn't be caught dead in a Speedo of any color. ;) I haven't even worn a swim suit of any kind since the 1980's. ;) I don't do swimming pools...

I did notice you slap on deet when we were at Dolly Sods which made sense but it makes me wonder about your deet habits

Makes me wonder how her camera gear is doing, too. Deet dissolves plastic. I used Deet once on a hike back when I was still carrying my Olympus 4040. When I saw what the grip looked like after holding it for most of the day in my Deet covered hand, I haven't used the stuff again.

Becky! Love the fair shots. 3 weeks until ours!!

Our starts in two weeks, but I can't go until the second week of the fair. I'll be in Disneyland (with John and Heather) and meeting my mother for lunch (I'm not looking forward to that part of the day!) the week our fair opens...

I didn't catch that, but I definitely see it now that you mention it!

And, why does the one right above it always have to be included in every single web page showing a collection of photos of photographers? I am so freakin' tired of seeing that picture posted everywhere...

Dad is slowly coming around, and by that I mean he is speaking some, though very hard to understand. He mostly complains about the pain he is in. He normally has chronic back pain. He lost an arm right up the shoulder socket when he was 19 from a shotgun blast, and got run over by a combine (big harvesting machine for those not farm savvy) was in his late 30's and had some severely crushed bones (was actually told he would not likely walk again, though did in less than a year.

I'm glad to hear he's improving, but boy... What a rough life he's had!

I really, really, really, dislike the "eight image" rule, when it includes smilies!

It's funny you mention that John, my husband is pretty oblivious to this place and the goings on. I fill him in here and there but I don't think he really gets it. he enjoyed meeting Jim and Lisa and I talk to him about Deb but I still don't think he understands the sense of community and friendship that is here.

Hubby gets the closeness, especially since meeting Dan and Lisa a couple of times. He is not interested in joining as he sees this as my place, plus we only have one computer, lol.

All this has really caused his back to be messed up, this is why he exercises all the time. His arm is still restrained so he does not start pulling at his tubes. They did a CT scan yesterday and say there is something abnormal they have to check out further, and need to do so before they can do an MRI which I guess will be more telling. So, though still in a terrible way, he is slowly coming back, the question will be just how far that he makes it in the end. Sorry to keep dumping this on you all, but it does feel kinda good to share for some reason.

Jasper is continuing to do great, though is really full o' beans. You can't imagine how much of a joy he has been for us right now. He is also a good distraction for my mom who is staying with us.

Jim, so glad Dad is coming around, even with the resulting pain. It sounds like he has overcome many challenges in his life!
And please don't 'sorry' us.
You all held my hand when my boy broke himself. It helped me immensely. We are more than a thread, we are a spool here :D

Jim, that is cautious good news. Here's hoping he keeps recuperating at this pace. Hope whatever they saw in the CT scan is a non-issue. And you aren't dumping. That's what friends are for!
