ya know, because I was homeschooled, even though I finished everything, I don't have a highschool diploma. I was told that if I wanted to go to college, all I had to do was take the college entrance exam to determine my scholarly worth.

I didn't go to college so I guess I never thought about it.

I graduated from high school and have two Communitiy College degrees, but I have no idea where the actual diplomas are. I think I saw my high school diploma recently when I was looking for some papers to complete my Social security benefits application, but I haven't seen the Associate Degree diplomas since my ex threw me out in 1996...

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Sorry I'm late for the party.

What's this thread about?

And, is it important to know this?

GAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Remember the whole niece thing? Going to college to be a photographer? Already shooting weddings? "put your camera away because D is the photographer this weekend" ?

Her dad (Wade's brother) just called and said that the photographer that D works for wants her to shoot races.
He called to ask what kind of lens she needs for that. He 'doesn't mind the investment' but wants to get the right lens for the job.

Right now she has the 400D and kit lens. Her dad got the 10-22 (locally for $900 ) for his architecture work.

Grrrrr...

I want to tell him that the only one that will work is the 300 2.8 L

I don't know, why don't you "Ask the photographer?" The nerve of cutting you down then seeking your advise. Are you worried if the shots are great she will get all the credit and if not, well then it was the lens YOU suggested.

All are great, these stood out for me. Just the right tilt on the bottle and you worked the DOF perfectly on the pebble.

Great shots Dan. Where did you get the way up high shot from?

Skrim17 wrote in post #5945366 (external link)
and here I was waiting for the "from way up high" come back...well that or the alien abduction.

Exactly what popped into my head when I read that question.

Stunning, I miss sunsets over the water, use to go see them as a kid over Lake Michigan. That was when we lived in Michigan.

While I was looking for the pic of me swilling the bottle of wine (I can't find it) I found a few pics of Cara that were in odd folders so I hadn't moved them to her folder yet.
This first one is one of my favorites.
