Shh... don't tell her I posted this here ;)

I liked the expression but the color version is soft (as is this version) - I converted to B/W thinking maybe it would cover up some of the softness...

yes / no on the conversion?

It's a little soft, but I remember a faze of using soft focus filters just to capture a look like this. I'd much rather have an interesting subject with a technical flaw, than a perfect shot with nothing going on in it. Your wife is beautiful. If I were you, this would be a keeper.... thanks for sharing!

I really like it but just wish the eyes were in focus. Love the expression.

It's so frustrating when you have a great image that is just OOF.

It could stand a tighter crop maybe.

hah! Thanks for the comments!

They are both indeed keepers (at least in my mind :) ).

She seems willing to have me photograph her, so maybe later I can try and recreate this with a little better focus. Unfortunately this was me trying out my 50 and her just being in the right place at the right time and giving me this look.

I'm glad the slight softness doesn't distract too much from what I saw when snapping this one.
