I live about 1/3 mile from Piper, so there are always interesting sights. I'm just not greatly into aviation, so I take for granted all the old planes landing and flying low over the river. But my father and I flew into there last night and after taking off again this guy followed suit, so I got some midair shots while.. midair

Considerable noise, but I did what I could with it:

We were in a powered parachute. See here (external link) or here (external link).

That is awesome. I'll bet you have a lot of really good shots from that powered parachute.

Wow, thanks :D #2 isn't edited much at all from camera. Removed noise, added a slight, slight color gradient, and smoothed the clouds a bit. I don't think the lighting could have been any better - I was happy.

No, #1 was not HDR'd. I did more editing to it than I believe it was worth. #2 wasn't either, though I think it looks like one.

Here are the originals of both.. don't mind the terribleness of them :o

Can I ask where they are located? I am in south Central PA. And I love aviation. I have a R/C Piper Cub.

The Piper Aviation museum (old Piper factory) is located in Lock Haven. I assume you didn't make it to our annual Fly-In last month. A HUGE number of Piper airplane owners fly in over a weekend and it's amazing. Of course I didn't make it this year either, so no piccies. The airport isn't used too often otherwise. Nice, easy access if you have a longer lens and I've never been hassled by security there.. not sure I've ever seen security there except during the Fly-In. I always stop in to watch them land the blimps.
