What does L officially stand for? just got my first L yesterday and its awesome!

No actually it stands for Lasudo. Which is Japanese for Liafsid. Which is German for Luxury.

I don't know why they just didn't call it L for Luxury in the first place. :confused:

I believe it stands for Luxury! I will say this: My experience is that the "L" lenses have better color, sharper, and just all around an outstanding lens. I really don't want to buy anything but an "L"!

It's also how I feel about IS! I think all lenses need IS, in my very humble opinion.!;)
