A deserted beach on Cape Breton Island on the northern portion of Nova Scotia. It's along the world famous Cabot Trail that skirts the coastline for 180 miles or so.

It's a Cape Breton Samsquanch. Supposedly a inbred creature from early Scottish and French settlers in the "down north" area of the island. Sometimes we call them the "hairy-scarey ones" so tourists should keep their eyes peeled in case they ever get a chance to get a good clear photo of one. They make a sheep-like bawl which they say is connected to the early Scots in the area. Bahahahaha . . . ! I'm a Noiseware fan. A bit of levels adjustment to darken it a tad. Was extremely foggy and threatening rain on the mountain and created large amounts of haze . . . shows a bit in the clouds. The "pig" is halfway down on the right and an inch in. . . . white thingy. Some major magazines over the last couple of years have featured our Island in their pages as being a great place to vacation. I do French & Indian War military as a hobby, and on numerous encampments in Louisbourg I've had soooo many people tell me we have a well kept secret up here. They can't get over the beauty of the place. Celtic Colours is a Fall festival of celtic music we have up here in October and draws folks from all over the world. Basically next years festivals are booked immediately following their visits in the current year. We have the same type of fall colors as New England and draw many leaf-peepers too. And if you do "stand corrected", don't stand with your back to a Samsquanch . . . . !
