1st flash meter arrive and asking.=D

hi all. im totally new on meters, i just purchased a sekonic 358. as for what i understand using lumisphere(dome) pointing it from the subject to the camera mostly use in studio? correct me if im wrong here. how often do you use(for those who know how) lumigrid?for reflected light, such as???? on outdoors w/c is more useful lumigrid or lumisphere? im confused and a bit intimidate.=D

Lumisphere is to measure incident light falling on the scene. For overall exposure setting, measure with the hemisphere fully exposed to all light sources in the scene, and point it from subject position to the camera lens. (some debate about this, as some point it to the Main light...merely a difference in technique!) For measuring the intensity of Light A vs. Light B, retract the hemisphere and point it only at the light being measured, so that the sphere is not seeing light from other sources.

The only time I used the lumigrid was when the new meter came in, to check if it fit. The reflected meter is built in the camera.

great input guys. i just have to get use to it the. one more thing do i have to press the measurment button once or put pressure in it till the calculation stop? really amat.question
