It just seems like it would make life a whole lot easier to have the same plate mounted on both cameras that will fit the 3047 Pan Head I have and the ball head that want to get for my monopod. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Canon 1DMKIIN, 7D, 40D, 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 17-40 f4L, 28-135mm IS, 85mm 1.8, 35mm 2.0, 50mm 1.8, , 18-55mm kit, 430EX II, 580EX II (2), AB800 x 2

And while Manfrotto sells QR plates, they don't separately sell a QR base. Maybe you can find someone on POTN who removed the Manfrotto QR and replaced it with one of the Arca-compatibles?
