It's not really intuitive, but once you get into it a little bit, it all falls together. The Kelby books are nice because its all broken up into "how to" lessons. For instance, instead of reading a chapter on levels, the kelby book will say "How to lighten one area of a photograph" and it will then intro you into levels on a learn as you go type of system. Most of the other photoshop books are more textbook like, and harder to use, IMO. This space for rent.
