Nice setup/review Ben and actually not that much of a difference from its little brother the GT0530/Q3 I have, a great hiking combo.

Ben -- what is the total weight of tripod and head? i know you have the info somewhere but i couldn't find it .

my benro c-128 with Q3 weighs 3.625 lbs. but will easily be under 3.5 lbs when i get the short column.

height to the top of the QR plate w/o column extended is 53" so i really don't need much if any center column.

also the lower leg extensions are 16mm in diameter. in fact the leg sections are the same diameters as my benro mc-66 monopod.

Try letting one of the leg sections out just about 1/2 inch...all of the legs will now touch the Q3T base without increasing the overall folded length!

Nice review Ben! I do like the lightweight setup you put together here. I purchased the QR lever and I love how much more convenient it is to work with. I can save a few seconds going from landscape to portrait mode esp. if you have to work quickly. Definitley worth the extra duckets!

Just ordered a 1541T. Should get it next week. Going to get the BH-25 ballhead for that. Should fit with my B2-Pro clamp.

Anybody know how a larger head will affect the folding of the traveler tripod? I already have an Acratech GV2 head and was wondering how tightly the legs can close with that head.

A larger head will just make all the legs stick out more. Not a total deal killer if you dont mind but wont be as compact as the Markins Q3T.
