I have the problem with my microsync radio transmitter... It falls off so easily and is a very loose fit. It's reliable in terms of misfires and such when the transmitter stays on, but I'm always looking to upgrade my radios. I have been debating the switch to the Skyports and now these, but I think that in the end, I'll just bite the bullet and get PW's.

There is industrial strength Velcro, found in hardware stores and elsewhere.

I just got my CyberSyncs...it seems that I ordered the wrong adapter...

http://www.adorama.com …to%20hot%20shoe&item_no=4 (external link)

Best I can figure is that the top portion is actually dead, that this adapter is made to from camera to PC cord, not PC cord to flash...

:(

Will this http://www.adorama.com …0shoe%20to%20pc&item_no=3 (external link)
work? I am sending the adapters I got to exchange for what I need. I am trying to connect the CyberSync receiver to a Sigma 500 DG ST and to a SunPak 4000AF.

Thanks!

Are you trying to connect the CyberSync to your Sigma ST?

If so, you are going to have problems.

The Sigma ST will not fire via just the center and side terminals, and this is all the CyberSync will activate (same for PW, Skyports, etc).

You will not be able to find any adapter that will do what you want.

I cannot help with the Sunpak 4000AF. But you are basically DOA with the Sigma ST.

Enjoy! Lon

You won't regret it John. I've never known an unhappy Pocket Wizard owner. I can't say that about various other trigger systems. I know it's not the best or most cost effective solution for everyone, and I realize that they are larger than other transmitters, but they just work and always seem to work. They don't slip or slide off the hot shoe. That's worth the extra cost to me. Again, not for everyone but I haven't once looked back after getting Pocket Wizards and I plan to add a few more to give my system a little more flexibility.

Can't fire a Sigma DG ST with CyberSyncs or PW's? As much info as I have read about the Sigmas here and I never noticed that. That sucks.....:(

It will fire the Sigma Super, but not the ST.

This info comes up here often.

I am sure this info is in scores of threads in the forum.

The only way the Sigma ST will fire off camera is if all the flash feet contacts are active (like with a Canon off shoe cord). But if you only activate the center and side terminals (that typically fire most flash units) the ST will not fire.

All the radio slave set including the CyberSync only control the center and side terminals on the hotshoe.

Enjoy! Lon

Could you put in a 3.5mm port connected to the test fire button?

Jumpers to the test fire button seems to be about the easiest way to deal with the stubborn ST.

The posts near #157 in this thread offer some some info on that approach.

Thanks, I'll be doing this. I also ordered a Sunpak 383. What's another $72? :)

Also remember that the Sigma ST has very limited power control, and manual is all you will have with the CyberSync.

That won't help... what would I velcro it to? It slides into the hotshoe and that's pretty much it.
