How much do the battery powered Cybersynchs cost?

These are interesting, especially as they add the ability to modify an alienbee/white lighting//zeus/einstein power and settings from the transmitter.

RE: the flash meters... I agree I don't want as little as possible hanging from the unit. What about using the built-in PW from the meter to a secondary cybersync transmitter that is connected to a PW? Link the systems. You could then use all of the above - allowing PW where needed but also the cheaper cybersync to be used for each light?

The above might also solve the issue of a mount point for some... as you could run a pocketwizard on the camera in situations where you think the cybersync would fall off. Seems like unless the range was an issue you could just have the "link" in your bag and fire everything as needed.

I really like how you don't have to deal with batteries in the receivers!

Not sure where you are seeing the adjustment option....The wired remote allows that. (I see it now - future release).

And the beauty of the new Cybersyncs, IMO, is the dependability coupled with the battery function rather than the AC.

i'm really thinking about getting these know. would you guys say these are the best bang for the buck, or is there anything close to it that is also popular?

before looking at this forum, i only knew of pocketwizards and the cheapo ebay ones, so this is all really new to me. again, thanks in advance.

I'm holding out for RadioPopper Jr. myself, but I don't have any idea when they will actually come out. I'm not in a big hurry, though, since I have an apparently rare reliable set of eBay cheapos for now. I would really like the increased range, but I don't need bells and whistles. Just need to fire the flash. However, if the RadioPopper Jr. doesn't hit the streets in a reasonable time, I may be forced to buy my first Paul C. Buff product.

Best bang for the buck? I think you'll have to decide - it's your buck. I like mine so far. More testing this coming week but I've found no downside yet.

The Radio Popper Jr., as I understand them, are a different type of unit at far different bucks. If you absolutely must retain ETTL over ranges longer than possible with the Canon system then they are your option.

The Jr's are a stripped down version of the Radiopoppers. They will only offer remote triggering, without the ETTL retention of the full Radiopoppers.

Supposed to be good, cheap and reliable trigger (of course, that is a bold claim considering they are not even made yet :)).

I hope they do pan out. Competition is always a great thing.

if you follow the link that Jim included in his post, you can read all about them.

So another entry in the PW, Skyport, Cybersync arena. Yes, competition is always a good thing.

Cheers for the link. I'll probably just get the cheapo ebay ones as i'm just getting them for personal experimentation.

Don't buy the cheap ebay ones. If you have the $120 US buy the cyber syncs. I just got mine in tonight, and I love them already. They are built well, they work great, what else could I ask for. (I read a post awhile back saying they were cheaply made. NOPE, not mine. I have already dropped them onto the concrete, and it still works like a charm)

BTW here are my first two model shoots with the CS's. I am still learning, so give me some time.

Got mine yesterday! As the story goes, I also have the cheap e-bay units (already sold to a fellow photographer), and a set of PW's. I had a need to control all of my lights and couldn't justify the cost of additional PW's. So far I'm satisfied!!

You should call them about that. They have been a bit back-ordered, so people's experiences will vary wildly with delivery times.

I think mine took about a week. I don't think it was that bad, considering they come from TN and I live in CA.
