newbie's first shots. need opinions

as the title says, i'm a strobist newbie and i wasn't exactly sure where to post this so here goes.

strobist info: this one is kinda weird. it was simply an experiment. it's 10 sec exposure and i simply walked away from the camera and hit the test button on the flash a couple of times.

in the future i'll try to recompose and take another shot at this.

#1 needs a bit of seperation between the hair and the BG

#2 &3 are cool and moody.

#4 I like that effect a lot.
