first of all i'm very lucky that i can post here again in POTN,
here's the story:
at 6AM i see beautiful cloud and i rush and go to the rooftop, it's on the third floor, i take 3-5 picture, and when i try to take a further step i slipped! and i think i was gonna die falling from the 3rd floor, it's just miracle that i fall to the 2nd floor first(it's a water reservoir) and then to the ground. luckily no bones broke, but my 400D+10-22mm broke, the 400D cannot shot anymore, and the 10-22 is broke into 2 pieces:

i can still rotate manual focus and the zoom for the 10-22, and i think it has no problem, i'm so surprised the lens optic it's not broken..

anyone here happen the same broken lens like my 10-22mm?? and what's the cost for repairing it? and for my camera, i don't now if it's repairable :(

btw, sorry for my bad english

*you can see the photo building where i fall in page 2

that was a scary situation. well, at least youre not seriously hurt. too bad for the camera & lens though...:(

just add a 16-35 2.8 or 17-40 to your wishlist or an XSi (450D) + a new 10-22 & you'll feel better.;)

I'd rather kill my camera than kill myself anyday. Glad to hear you're ok, not so with your setup though. Hope everything turns up well if you decide to repair.

absolutely right, but i dunno bout you, when i fall from the roof i still had a chance to grip my camera when i slipped, hoping that i can hang in there and trying to safe it while i say" "i'm gonna die, i'm gonna die", and fall....

Paten, you've got nine lives like a cat, and it sounds like you also fell like a cat!

Now take the CF card out of the camera and see if you got any shots on the way down.

if it's that combo one, ill be crying out loud for sure, before that, i had considered to replace my 10-22 to 17-40L, to get my 5D in use with wide photo's, luckily i don't,.. :)

Filter or hood? :p

Seriously. Glad you walked away with your health. 1 floor is pretty major. Be fortunate and be careful in the future. Camera will not always be there to break your fall.

+1
That would hurt much more if it were your 5d/85L.

I wasn't serious about the the filter/hood. Just wanted to mention it before someone were to really ask. But thanks for the photos. You are very lucky. Maybe you should go buy a lotto ticket.
