If you have a car with a cigar lighter, you'd do well to get a mains adapter that can fit into it. It'll be useful for all kinds of things.

Ah. I didn't know that.

The 5D battery will last a long time (unless you're going somewhere cold), it'll see you through at least 5 days worth of conservative shooting. When I had mine, it used to go for weeks without a charge.

Batts last forever on 5D. Tell me how long are you going for, how much memory are you taking, do you shoot in RAW, and do any of your lenses have IS?
Get yourself a couple of Spare Batts of EBAY, charge them up and youll be good for quite a few days of solid shooting. Please dont leave the house with 1 battery only, lol.

I brought 4 sterlingtek batteries for this trip to UT, on day 4 of the vacation and still using the first battery, on full charge still. You just buy 2 more from sterlingtek for $24 shipped and you're good to go after fully charging them.
