The latest Sandisk rebates (for the Exteme IV and Ducati cards, at least) are very juicy. I just ordered 2 8GB Extreme IV CF cards from buydig @ $159 each with free shipping). So the cards came to $318 but the Sandisk rebate on 2 is $160. $318-$160=$158 or $79 per card.

Three things to note:

The rebate is paid in the form of a Visa cash card; not a depositable check.

You MUST buy from one of the vendors listed on the rebate form.

Getting your rebate out of Sandisk can be EXTREMELY frustrating and time-consuming. Lots of horror stories out there and I have one of my own from the last round of rebates. Sorry, but I must yell: MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING YOU SEND TO SANDISK. Twice I was told my rebate application was denied because I failed to send in the bar code. Not only did I send them, in both cases they were stapled to the application form! Photocopies to the rescue!

Now, go forth and shop.

Depending on which link you use from all the posts here as you will get different prices for the 133X 4GB. Even their rep. was dumbfounded as to why my order shows up as $23 a piece while his is $26 a piece. If you log in to their site directly, the 4GB is now $30.40 each.

I always include a copy of the original rebate form with the bar codes & receipts copied on this copy. I include this extra copy within the rebate enevelope (1 piece of paper with all 3 elements of the rebate on it).

I bought a Sandisk 8 GB Extreme III (external link) for $60 bucks after the mail-in rebate. Sandisk made good on the rebate, too. It took almost 2 months to receive it though. Now the net price has gone down another $5 bucks. Dammit! :)

Why are going to pick up quite a few? You can only use one at a time so why not get one big one. I've got the 16G extreme III and I've never had an issue with capacity. I still have my 2G and 4G cards that I bought a long time ago but I haven't used those in forever. Peace
