Anyway to quickly and easily add a watermark over the pictures of a larger set?

The reason I am asking is I do a lot of poster work for cat owners. I need to send them proofs in smaller formats but set them up so they can't really use them online or for prints.

I want to add my website across the middle of the pictures from one corner to the next.

Any quick and easy way to do this?

Thought the 'Pros' would know best :)

CS2 has actions I believe. Just create a watermark you want and save it as a transparent PSD file. Create an action to open the watermark, copy-n-paste it and close it.
You can than, apply an action to a whole directory, as an automated task.

Its easy, start off with one of the pictures already open. Hit Record, do the work you want to do with the least amount of "playing" or "undo" hit stop. Save it. Nothing else to it.

Hey guys.I use Batch Watermark Creator (external link). I like it because if I am only watermarking and resizing, I can do the entire folder at once. Saves tons of time. Here's an example of what I'm currently doing.

I use the method as described in Russell Brown video (external link). I have taken it and broken it down into smaller action files that I can re-use in other actions. This means you don't have to buy any third party applications.

This may seem a little overwhelming to begin with but it is very easy to accomplish. If you don't have illustrator simply use photoshop to enter your text and then ctrl click on the text layer to turn it into a selection and then open your paths palette and on the flyout menu here select make work path. Everything else in the action can be the same as in the video.

This action works great for me and I have several options for different sizes and typefaces. I have done folders of several hundred images where it will resize and watermark all in one operation. I simply walk away from the computer and come back and it is all done without fail.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Hi, I've been using FastStone Photo Resizer. It seems to work well to both make smaller, lower resolution copies for online display and add my watermark at the same time.

You'll just need to set up the watermark in another program (I used Photoshop), save it somewhere and then "point" to it in the FastStone program.

Once set up, it runs pretty smoothly.

Oh, and did I mention, it's freeware.

If you use Lightroom, take a look at Mogrify Plug-In... will do just about anything you can imagine with watermarks, captioning, borders, etc... and its free. http://www.timothyarmes.com/lr2mogrify.php?sec=main (external link)

You can totally control placement of the watermark, size, effect, tiling, etc.

Here is an image I threw a couple of things into as a quick test...

While those are great watermarks they can easily be removed by just cropping.

You need to use an overt watermark that is almost invisible and covers the entire photo.

Well if that's your goal, then you can do it with the plug-in... you can tile it in all four corners and the center. I put it in the middle, and if someone is crafty enough to remove it, then I'm not going to worry about it.
