At least here in the US, if someone removes your watermark you can get an extra $30,000 per incidence tacked onto the punitive awards in your copyright infringement lawsuit. This is the extra penalty for willful removal of copyright protections and is in addition to everything else (usage fees, punitive damages, reimbursement of any court and legal expenses).
All this assumes that you registered your copyright properly and in a timely manner in the first place. (At best you can only collect "market rate" usage fees if you didn't.)



I don't know why but that typo struck me as funny. Nothing wrong with photographing cats... the original post wasn't funny at all. The correction got me rollin though.
