Ok so I think I may be the last of the F3 GT threads from last weekend. I'm off to Castle Combe in the morning and remembered I hadn't put any of these online.

I tried some different angles this weekend so your comments would be appreciated.

Cheers

Number 4 is nice, but really, number 8 is brilliant. Watermark spoils it though

I expect many "POTN'ers" will be at the WTCC next week? I sure am, look out for a handsome young man with a magic drainpipe ;):p

You can never have enough photos of GT cars Joffan!

As for some detailed comments on the pictures.....

#1 Doesn't work for me at all I'm afraid. It just appears to me to be neither one thing or the other. I can see where you're going with it, but it looks like it needs a little more work.

#2 I like a lot. I have tried to get shots like this in the past, and have failed completely. I think that this angle and crop works really well.

#3 Would be a absolute snorter if you hadn't chopped the rear of the car slightly. Great angle though, and one I would like to see again.

#4 Rear on shots are difficult, but I think that this works. The shutter speed has made the image very dynamic, and the curve of the rumble strip leads the eye through the picture nicely.

#5 Not sure about this one. Good timing to catch the flames, but I'm just not sure about the placement of the car in the frame.

#6 Nice clean background, and it's a Fezza! Being critical, I might have let it come on to slightly more 3/4 angle.

#7 I also like a lot, and it's another really dynamic image. I think the angle it's been taken at (and I'm not a fan of tilting the camera to wierd angles) works pretty well here.

#8 Put me right off my cereal LOL.

As Dave as has said, good on you for trying and posting some different angles and shots. There's definately some good angles etc here that would be well worth going back to again.

Enjoy Castle Combe. Back to Croft for us Northerners today, and guess what? It's going to rain......again!

Cheers,

Simon.

Definitely some different stuff to the norm there JB... fair play for giving it a crack. I'm quite into doing a few different things but always end doing doing quite a lot of standard stuff as well. I like #7, think that has a lot of potential.

Kind of off subject but I do quite like the small black border around the images... helps to bring the picture off the forum page (since it's white) without being too "fancy". Prob see you next weekend at WTCC... Az

Simon, thanks for taking the time to write a detailed response. Very useful to have another input and outlook on the shots. I could have just posted up the same standard shots but I found I was getting bored and as I didn't really have to be there I thought I'd play about. No-one was going to be looking for them particularly so if it didn't work then nothing lost.

Cheers!

I'll be back to normal at the WTCC. Maybe... There's plenty of standard stuff too but wanted to do something where some people who knew what they were talkign about could offer comments.

And the border is just a batch within PS. Easy peasy. Just increase canvas size by a couple of mm and set it as black ;)
