They are all great shots. The bear had scratched out quite a large area. The gull looks like it is either harassing the bear to move on or to get up and hunt so it could share in a few left overs.

Thanks for the kind feedback, folks. As a beginner, I was just happy to capture some images from the experience. Actually seeing a Polar Bear in its natural habitat was pretty much worth it on its own. I'm going to be working on my photographic skills before attempting the African Safari (Ed's photos are inspiring!).

The interaction between the bear and the gulls was quite interesting. They were obviously after the spoils of the kill, but the bear was pretty persistent about protecting it:

Polar bears in the wild...Wow...what an experience that must of been :) These are some great shots :)

I like #4 the best...looks like the bear is yelling at you :)

And that very last pic you just posted...the bear chasing the seagulls...very cool shot...good stuff :)

Very nice. Difficult exposures. You are very fortunate.

A long time ago I had lots of gear - now I make do with one camera & one lens.;)

Thanks, guys. Yep, we feel very fortunate. This was a "30 year anniversary" celebration trip. If we have to wait for 30 more, I'll be too old to hold a camera :)

lol - The part I didn't show is that we were aboard a ship ( small 50 passenger Russian ship fortified to go through the ice). No way I'd want to be where that fuzzy cute bear could tear into me!
