40D first shots with the camera so had a duck shot on hand (what is the duck tradition for anyhow?) nice camera quantum leap from my D30.

Nice one, and welcome. When I first begun, I couldn't even photograph a duck!

The 40D is a big jump from the D30 no doubt, not that the D30 is a bad camera. The D60 actually holds a special place in my heart, even if I don't own it yet. When I picked up my first digital camera a number of years ago, I really wanted a D60 but couldn't afford it. These days though, it's going for a nice price.

Maybe I'd get it as a backup eventually.
