Jim's '54 Studebaker has '53 grill bars & it Sounded really good when it idled past me. It has a stock 454 LS7 motor, turbo 400 transmission, & a Dana 4.56 rear end on Super Sport springs.
It has all original upholstery, door panels & headliner. Jim has had it for 20 years & drives it 3-4,000 miles a year.
No times; every time he went to the strip he was rained out.

It does. Studebaker did some nice things in the '50. Too bad they didn't last. ;(

Thanks for the photo

My father had one, he used to take us to school on this car. It was white. He loved that car. My dad is now 86 years old and in excellent health and mind. I just talk with him.... about the past...... Good memories. We had the car until 1960. He sold it to a neighbor that eventually sold it to a car collector. I know the car is still somewhere in the southeast.

Thanks
Elliot

That isnt an LS7.

I don't argue with them & just write down what I think they told me. ;) Maybe Jim will provide more info on the motor.

Thanks for the comments!

They're rare around here, too. I've seen a few later Hawks, but no other '54s.

Beautiful car. Should be an LS6....LS7 is the 427 SBC found in the C6 Corvette Z06 and that's definitely not it. :D

LS7 was introduced in 1969 by GM, it is an aluminum head 454. For a long time you could buy them as crate engines. The above mentioned C6 motor is using a recycled name.

As for the Staudebaker, I really don't like them due to their shape. But this car looks nice to me since I prefer simple paint and body lines.

Me, too. Except for the new 'Vette & compared to the other boxes Detroit had in '54, they were a refreshing change.

Me three. I liked them a lot, much better than the last of the Avanti series, which I thought were downright ugly.
