Hey,

It's my birthday this week and i'm wanting to spend some money on buying some new flashes and ebay triggers, a reflector will also be useful for some portrait shoots. Can anybody give me some advice on what to look for?

I'm guessing Sunpak / Vivatar's? Where can I buy a good double sided reflector etc?

Cheers,
Adam

I would suggest Amvona.com for a reflector. I got a 40x60 5 in 1 for under $50 and it works well and can be used as a scrim.

I also use a Sunpak 555 but think the Vivitars are about equal. If you can find them.

Oh, and Happy Birthday!

Have a hunt on eBay for those too. Apparently they didnt come to the UK officially due to different safety regulations. Ill have a hunt around tonight.

if using the 580ex you might want to consider the cybersynchs from alienbee. yes they are a little more expensive but a lot more reliable from what I've heard. they do ship international too....

I guess 130usd comared to 30usd is a Big difference..... (sorry)

I just got the ebay triggers and they work great. I also got the ebay ETTL cord that works great as well. Both for around $50...

You can find a 2 pack of light stands and umbrellas on ebay for about $60 too...I was considering that but didnt want to wait for shipping.
