This one takes a bit of explaining. The ball struck the batsman's glove and span up into the air. The wicket keeper attempted a diving catch... but before he could get to the ball, it struck the stumps and the batsman was out bowled (played on). Mildly bizarre.

Awesome as usual Gavin. Boxing is not my game but, the photos with the sweat flying are sensational.
Love the nervous smile in the last cricket shot - assume a not out decision?

Excellent stuff (as usual) Gav....

Two very subtle sports.......

There is nothing more subtle than a glove in yer face or the gentle snick of ball on wicket.....

:) Thanks for sharing....

Cheers Rob! It was indeed an unusual moment... at first I thought it was an attempted stumping, so I was suprised when the batsman was given out as he was clearly well inside the crease. It was only after I had a chat with one of the fielders that I worked out what had actually happened!

Thanks Gary. Yesterday I shot 3 matches and notched up just over 1200 frames. I do 'follow though' (i.e shoot long-ish bursts) quite a bit with cricket as you never quite know when something might happen around the stumps area.

Much appreciated Aust! The batsman was out, bowled (played on). The ball span up off the batsman's glove. The wicket keeper made a vain attempt to catch the ball, missing it narrowly... and the ball came down clipping the off bail! A few more pics below:

#3 is a classic. Great stuff here. You did a really good job keeping the whites in the cricket shots. Anything special done there?

Thanks CartoonBear. Appreciated. Nothing special going on... just keeping a fairly close eye on the exposure.
