Advantage of spot-metering on the Xsi over Xti?

Probably a silly question, but just looking for opinions about it. Do Xti users make up for the lack of it in photoshop?

Also, are the HDR photos I've been seeing in galleries lately a post-processing effect or just a feature on different cameras?

Thanks in advance...
Sandi

You can't make up for a lack of spot metering in Photoshop nor do you need to. As long as you expose a shot how you want then it doesn't matter how you metered it.

HDR is not an available feature in any camera. You need to combine several images with varying exposures to create one image with a High Dynamic Range and it is done at PP stage (usually badly IMHO).

I am not sure that I understand your question..
Photoshop has nothing to do with camera metering, although I can alter the exposure..

On the other hand, Spot metering is not essential, especially for new photographers - it is more important to understand metering in general..

All HDR photos are the result of post-processing, cameras don’t do that by themselves.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.
