I'm breaking into the world of non-screw on filters. I've been looking around and reading other threads on the forum and I've decided to go with a Cokin holder and Hitech filters. I saw this kit on amazon and I was wondering if this was all I needed to get (other than the filters obviously)?

It just seems way cheaper than all of the other adapters and holders I've been looking at, so I was a bit leery.

P.S.- I am attaching this to my 17-40 so 77mm is the correct size adapter ring in case anyone is wondering.

I don't doubt that it's legit, I'm just wondering if I need anything else to get this filter party started (other than filters).

If you are using the filters on your 17-40L you could just use the place on the rear of the lens.
Filter Size 77mm (gelatin filter slot on the rear of lens accepts up to three gel filters)

Actually, I didn't know that, but I'm looking specifically to get into using ND grad filters. Thanks for the tip though.

Huh, that seems really cheap, but yea that should be all you need aside from the filters. I guess the Z size is just a lot higher priced. I wonder why the reviews are so low... Never looked the system up on amazon before (even though its sold through adorama).

Sorry I miss understood. For a parts list, all you need is the (1.) adapter ring ( lens to holder) the (2.) filter holder, and what ever (3.) filters you want. Very few parts. The kit you have listed has both the ring and holder, so get that, and then all you need is the filters of your choice.

I read the reviews and it sounds like there's a lot of vingetting with WA, so I guess I'll have to go with the z pro holder.

Have a look at www.2filter.com (external link) . They have a great combo that has all you need to get started, for a very good price.
