Hi folks,

Just a quicky. someone has asked me if I can diagnose the problem he is having on his 1DsII. First up he thought the shutter sounded a bit odd compared to his other 1DsII. On any shots above ISO 400 and wider than f2.8 this happens.

Using his other 1DsII with the same lens (50mm f1.2) and same settings he has no problems. I think his shutter is going.

Thanks for any help

Neil

If you're referring to the top strip of lighter area, then yes I'd agree.

Yes, it look like shutter failure. There are a few threads here showing a similar light bar. Most have it in the middle of the frame but I don't think that the location is important.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Yeah I am referring to the light bar thanks guys. I knew that a light arch was definitely shutter failure and I was quite sure this was too. I'll let him know

Thanks again

Neil
