The time they open the pier...5AM...just kidding. I would get there at 7AM-8AM, since you need to find parking and walk to the pier (about 10minutes). You can park in the public covered parking, so you can take a nap if you need to. Also make sure you leave any thing in out car in the trunk. I mean every thing.
The women finals are on sat at 2:25PM and the men at 3:05PM on sunday. I went over there today to scout the press area and the day was just calling for shots...
Two photogs I talked to. They use the pier not the press pit. I might just shoot from the shores to get REAL close action.
