I went with the one from the POTN store and love it. I would rather pay a little more for a product that helps support these forums considering how much i have learned here. I have the one for my 40D and one for my XTi also.

40D with BG-E2N grip | XTi with BG-E3 grip | 430EX
EF 100-400 F4.5-5.6 L IS | EF 70-200mm f4 L IS | EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 IS | EF-S 18-55mm Kit Lens | EF 50mm f1.8

Do not get this one. The N8 is for Nikon.

The one you want is the C8 version. I have one and it is very good. I got mine from POTN member Teamspeed. He seems to be out of the C3's right now.

Thank you DDCSD for the correction. I hit N instead of C on the keyboard. The one for the Nikon is actually N6.

I highly recommend the C8. Here is the link to ebay item. (external link)

it may have been the canon wireless remote, or a cord remote that was more than 10 feet or so. this was back in 2005, so it is more extravagant than the cable that is about 6 inches long. i may have mistyped the amount, but i remember something i looked at was over 100, the battery grip was up there on price, that might be what i was thinking of.

More than likely the Canon timer remote (external link).

ordered the corded remote that was linked on page 1. it was a dead link for the wireless, though they may have been sold out. it works.!!! also got the 25 foot cord as well.
