I think it would be fun to see pictures from those with school vs those who were self taught.

I don't want people to argue...The judge will be yourself.

My post with school vs Self taught got a pretty good debate on both sides.

Now we all know you will defend your view to the end so this is just a fun way to see if maybe there is something on the other side of the argument.

Just post 5 or so pictures you are proud of and in the title of your post...Write school or self taught.

See if the other side of your argument has something in their photos you don't.

Be nice and dont argue..lol That is a rule!!! lol

What the heck, I'll start. Since I am a mix of School and Self-Taught I will detail my experience.

Photo Experience:

Highschool: 3yrs (graduated in 1992 so it was a bit ago lol)... school yearbook and newspaper, mostly shot the sporting events and candids. 35mm format.

Most Recent and Current: 4 yrs Surveillence and evidence photography (35mm) and several point and shoot sony digitals (both for business and personal use).

Current: Just got a 40d a few months ago and have been LOVING the digital SLR.

5 pics I am proud of:

1. Taken with a Point and Shoot Sony. PP - BW conversion - colorize Cigarette.

2. Taken with 40d. PP - Gauss blur area around table and glasses and crop.

3. Taken with 40d. PP - Levels, Curves, Crop, light Gauss.

4. Taken with 40d. PP - Levels, Curves, Crop.

5. Taken with Sony Point and Shoot. PP - Crop... Selecting a 5th pic was kind of hard, I wouldn't say I was "proud" of this shot, but it was pretty neat as they were duking it out within 15 feet of me.

Nice Roach,

I personally like black backgrounds over white.

The dandelion pic was an indoor shot with a round desk lamp arranged behind the dandelion. I moved the camera until the light just fitted the seed head. Really pretty simple.

Self taught since 11th grade yearbookum...06-07. The photos actually range from oldest to newest. First two were with the XT and kit lens. Last three varied with the lens but used a 20D. Tried to fine 5 variety: cityscape, landscape, people, concert, and animals.
