Someone's selling a Quantum Battery 1+ with MB5 cord for $30. Prior to committing to purchasing it, I'd like to hear of your opinions on this product.

I think it's compatible with my 40D and 580EX. Also, do I need anything else to get it to work? Thanks.

Possibly replace the battery. Does it include the charger?
Here is a link to Page at the manufactors site that shows the instructions.
Hope this helps John

Thanks, John.

I think it includes the charger. The reason why I'm asking these questions here on this forum is that the seller doesn't seem to know any more than me about the Quantum he's selling.

From looking on the Quantum website it looks like the cord will fit your flashes only thing I would worry about would be the replacement battery. I think that it has to go back to the factory for it to be done. I would check and see what that would cost but at the price he is selling it for I don't think that you could go wrong. I have paid that much just for a cord to connect to my Vivitars John

Well, I just met with the seller only to find out that the cord will not fit my 580EX. It fits 540EZ...

I did get a stroboframe with the Canon off shoe cord from the seller for $10, though... :D

They both use the same terminal so if it fits in one, it should fit the other, too.

[EDIT: Checking the Quantum website, I do see that the cables for the 540EZ and the 580EX are different for the QB1+ although I have no clue why. I also see that the cables for the 550EX, 580EX and 580EX II are all different, too, which is really weird since one cable should fit all of them. :|]

Thanks, Leo, for checking into this and confirming.
