I cannot seem to manage a sharp image for web viewing. The original RAW to Tiff file is as sharp as a tack. I am using PhotoShop Elements 3.0 All help is appreciated. Yes, I have searched for an answer.

Give us a RAW (or full size JPEG) and allow us to edit (at least) this image...

How much are you compressing the image to post on the web? You've compressed this image down to 36KB. That will definitely degrade the image.

Try this, perhaps, in Photoshop if you have it (if not, let someone here do it):

1. Open your image and go to image>mode>lab color (I usually pick don't flatten, but it doesn't really matter).
2. In the Layers box (if you don't have it open, go to windows>show layers), click on channels, and then lightness. The other three should now be unsselected.
3. Go to filter>sharpen>unsharp mask. Start at Amount and Radius at 50 and threshold at 0 or 5, and adjust them to fit your needs. ((I played with your image and found somewhere around amount: 42 or 23, radius: 7.5, and threshold:5 to be pretty good.))
4. Go back and set it back to color by going to image>mode>RGB.

Taa-daa, it should be sharper now.
