I have my monitor calibrated, and am doing all my work through LIghtroom.

If I export directly from LR and select SRGB/ 1998/ or Pro the pics look too saturated and nothing like what I just saw in LR.

If I export to photoshop, then profile change to srgb then export for web it looks normal.

Anyone know why, or what I can do to fix it. Thanks all!

First off, I'd use sRGB for images that are mailed.

Second: I'm not sure I get what you are saying:
If you export using sRGB, AdobeRGB 1998 or ProPhotoRGB (not a good idea for 8bpc images), then they all look off in mail? By the same amount?

Mail is color managed, so should handle all images (with embedded ICC profile!) correct. Since LR embeds the icc profile, this should work.

I gave it a quick try, exported an image in ProPhotoRGB (to make sure that it would be obvious if mail weren't color managed), and opened that in Mail.

Looks identical (except the output sharpening done; LR 2.0 Beta)

.

If it works different for you, then something is wrong with your monitor profile perhaps.

I have once had a monitor profile that was recognised by PS, but not by the OS; it was located in the wrong folder. If you make a screenshot (Cmd+Shift+3), and open that in PS, what profile does it have? Should be the same as your monitor profile. If not, you have the same problem I had.

Thanks Rene,
I'm sorry I just now saw you've responded.
Yes every photo turns out like this. I think you may be correct on the profiles.
I am using two monitors and have not calibrated my Macbook Pros monitor in a while. I do almost all my work on the big monitor and that's where mail is too but I guess it thinks it's on the laptop maybe??? I'm not sure.
I'll calibrate my MBP and see how it turns out.
Thanks again for the response. I'm in Texas until sunday so I have to wait till then for an update.

Ah, two monitors...
Both use a seperate profile?

Does the image change when you drag it from one screen to the other?

I think the issue might be with the two monitors, and something going wrong therw somehow.
Try making a screenshot of the image on both monitors, and see what profiles are used...

On the sharpening: This was "medium" IIRC.
