Another turbulent weekend of weather at Mosport with Saturday blessing us with rain and threatening thunder showers and then Sunday just raining all day long. Lots of great competitors made it out and there was some fantastic racing on Saturday, Sunday was dull as the rain would just not let up for the competitors.

Here's a few shots I liked from the weekend, more can be found on my flickr. All shot with 40D + Sigma 120-300 w/ 1.4x TC and 40D + 70-200.

C&C welcome as always!

Shooting the bikes was great, so small and nimble that it kept me on my toes the entire time. Shooting 300mm + TC from the general area isn't enough though, 400mm I'd say is minimum with 500mm being adequate and 600mm being the best imo :) Wish it hadn't of poured rain all day today though.. I am soaked to the bone!

my kid kept me up all night so I stuck near home today and didn't make it out.

Great pics!! I really like #7 and #2 would be my fave if the front wheel wasn't cropped.

Sorry to hear, didn't see many people out this weekend though I met some new faces I don't normally see at Mosport.

#2 is one of my favourites as well, shame I was going for the tight shot and clipped his front wheel though.

oh, you were mentioning not enough zoom so I thought it was a crop ...

Haha nah, the 300 + 1.4x TC was fine for pan shots but whenever I wanted to get head on shots or compose some nice apex shots I found the 420mm just wasn't enough from the general area.

Looks like it's time to bite on the 500mm :)

Thanks, any critiques or tips? First time shooting race bikes and it's quite an adjustment from my typical 4 wheel track action. Also meant to ask if people found the colours too blown out, after processing all the shots I realized I wasn't using my corrected laptop monitor profile.
