Very nice. The crops are a bit tight for my taste on a couple of them. Did you do that, or did you end up needing a wider lens than you planned? ;)

The explosions are exposed well, and they are pretty, but there is no context. Fireworks need some kind of foreground element in order to get that WOW we all look for.

I'm still waiting to see a shot of the crowd all looking up in wonder as they are lit in multi-coloured hues.

Yea, my 18-55 crapped out on me so I had to use my 50mm.

Very nice point. Guess I will have to wait until next year to try that.
Vinton has a very nice fireworks display next month, maybe I'll look that up.......

Well we have a fireworks competition here for the next couple of weeks, and I'll see if I can put my money where my mouth is.

I have my location all picked out, and I hope to shoot it next Saturday.

Having attempted my own firework shots this year for the first time, I take my hat off to you. These look great!

i think they look great. i personally like fireworks shots with no foreground showing. the only thing i would do, like you tried, is go wider.

#2 and #3 are excellent...contrary to previous assertions, there is no need to have anything on the ground or elsewhere to make the fireworks interesting. The only thing that looks odd is the fact that every single shot seems to have the exact same angle. Different vantage points can certainly change the looks of the shot.

The important question....are you happy with your results? Experimenting can really shake things up....give some different things a try next time out.

I really enjoy them though I'm curious on how you get them though where you even catch the center bursting. I've tried and haven't even come close.

Yea, I got a 18-55 IS lens comming. Just have to remember to shut off IS when on tripod. :)

Thank you for your kind comment. Comming from you means alot.
I am very happy with the results.
Next time I am gonna try some new things though.
I think a fisheye lens might be fun for this.
I just need to find a "friend" that has one.

First off, thank you.
Secondly, I set my camera up like this...

F# at max
ISO 100
Manual Mode
Shutter Speed 3 to 5 seconds
I was limited to the Nifty-Fifty, wanted to be at 25-35mm
