Very crisp and clean...

1) The bright orange fence on the right side pulls my eye off the riders...too much dead space at the upper left.
2) Was it really downhill at this point or is the horizon crooked? Judging by the angle of the brick column in the background, I'd say maybe a bit of both? Excellent panning.

Agreed, great captures and unfortunately, there's nothgin you can do to crop #1 for the fence. If it's not editorial, you could clone it.

The pan on #2 is sick, very very nice work. Love the colors and vibrancy of the first.

By editorial you mean what?

And why can't I clone it, say if it was? What about desating the orange just on the fence??

technically, if its for editorial purposes (ie news coverage) you are not permitted by most (if not all) editors from doing anything to an image other than very basic edits (sharpen, minor tones, crop). Some won't even allow that. Cloning of any type is not going to fly. Now, if you are using them for other purposes, have at it.

I think a desat on the fence would help for sure.

That is just HILARIOUS. The "news" with editor not allowing editing to make an image look better.
Guess something has to bear a resemblance of the original truth in the news!

hey man, ain't my rules. I believe they feel its Pandoras Box if you allow any image editing since it leaves the door open for lots and lots of potential problems. either way, it is what it is, hilarious or not.

Great pics but too bad about that fence. Im not sure how easy cloning it out will be with the riders shadows going behind it. I would try desaturating it.

I love them both. I have shot one race and had NOTHING this nice. For me i think #2 would please me more,if taken at the same angle, but coming at you, and not away. But they rock. Good job.

Thanks. I have the 2nd one with a better edit on it at work. Will load that copy to show the difference.
