I am still learning.

Decided to use the 2x with my 300mm f/2.8 as it had been suggested that to spend less time cropping I got it tighter to the shot.

Of course, typical of Croft, it rained and was quite dark at times. I wanted to also run at 1/320th and approx f/8 which meant quite a high ISO of 640. To be honest most of the photo came out either very dark or blury.

Here is one thought.

It did brighten up a little meaning I could reduce the ISO to 400 and got cold feet so upped the shutter speed to 1/400. Typically, though, I forgot to switch off the rear wheel and managed to adjust up to 1/500 for some of the other shots

Some great older cars braved the rain

First and last for me, but all of them are a good achievement if they were taken with a 2XTC on the lens with the light as poor as it was.

Simon.

Nothing wrong with those Peter, i'd say stick in with that combination, particularly when we get some decent weather. I'd rather junk a few dark shots than spend ages cropping.

I have to say after our little trackside expedition last month i'm finding Croft really boring from the speccy areas now. I seem to be visiting the same shooting spots at each event and even though i've tried to find new spots there simply aren't any.

I enjoy taking photos. I don't claim to be any good at it :D

When you're shooting against a specific brief, it's not necessarily any different track side Geoff. There are definately a lot more angles, but not as many really usable angles as you might think against the briefs that I get.

I would imagine it is the same at just about any UK circuit.

Simon.

I was quite supprised how well the shots through the fence came out so will be shooting there again.

To be honest, although there are restrictions I still think Croft is probably one of the more accessable tracks compared to others. Like I said on Saturday, Mallory is also supposed to be good so may a trip down to there is in order sometime?
